SUCCESS STORIES
SUCCESS STORIES
Automotive Accelerator Assemblies
LMC invented a solution to assuring that moisture did not intrude in on the electronic assembly and automatically performed mistake-proofing (Poka Yoke) to assure the assembly was defect free.
Multiple station equipment validating:
- Bushings are all present and all set at the correct depth.
- No pin holes present to allow moisture in the assembly.
- Blind slotted hole was properly formed.
Weapons Manufacturer AR-15 Upper and Lower Receiver
LMC reviewed the issues with the previous supplier’s parts and:
- Made numerous DFM recommendations
- Recommended a more suitable and more stable material
- Designed and supplied new tooling much more robust to eliminate the great number of issues with the previous tools
Automotive Insert Over Molded Horn Plate Assembly
LMC worked extensively with the customer engineering group on part design DFM
Material wall thickness
Combination of metal and plastic considerations using LMC metal and plastic experience
LMC designed and built-in automatically performing mistake-proofing (Poka Yoke processing) so as to assure both the in-process manufacturing and the final finished assembly were ultimately defect free.
Multiple station equipment validating:
- Flatness relative to the critical rivet height datum
- Assuring all thin areas are completely filled
