Challenge

Mistakes during the manufacturing process of the customer’s horn plate assemblies were causing defective parts.

Solution

Our engineering team worked extensively with the customer’s engineering group to optimize the part’s design for manufacturability. We designed and built multiple station equipment to ensure: • Flatness relative to the critical rivet height datum • All thin areas on the part were completely filled

Result

The customer has optimized their turnaround times by having their metal stamping and plastic overmolding supplier under one roof, and the part production is now running defect-free
